School Advisory Council (SAC)

The School Advisory Council (SAC) is a group of parents, teachers, and support staff, students and other community citizens who are nominated and elected by their counterparts and approved by the district school board. The principal is also a member. Legislated guidelines call for the composition of the group to be representative of the ethnic, racial and economic community served by the school.

At Discovery, members are elected by their peers to serve a one year term and are required to attend 8 meetings per year. Strict attendance is essential. Meetings are held on Tuesdays in the media center at 4:30 p.m.

Scheduled dates for the SAC meetings in 2018-2019 school year:

8/28, 9/18, 10/16, 11/13, 12/11, 1/22, 2/19, 3/12, 4/16
