The Discovery Middle School media center houses over 20,000 titles and is open throughout the school day. Students may visit the media center during the following times:

Before school: 9:00 – 9:25
During class with a pass
During lunch with permission from lunchroom administrator
After school: 3:50 – 4:00 (2:50 – 3:00 on Wednesdays)

Students may borrow up to two books at a time and keep them for a period of two weeks. The due date is stamped on a blue card and placed in the book’s pocket. If the book is overdue, a fine of 5¢ a day will be charged to the student’s account. Fines will not accrue on weekends or holidays away from school. Books may be returned to the circulation desk drop box located inside the media center or to the book return located outside the media center doors.

Library Fines

Late books: 5¢ a day (excluding weekends/holidays)
Lost library books OR textbooks: Full cost of book replacement

Library and textbook fines can be paid to the media center staff in cash. Fines can also be paid online using SchoolPay using the links below.

Laptop & Charger Fines

Fines for lost or damaged laptops and chargers can be made using the link below. If a student has lost a charger, they must go to the media center for a replacement and to have the fine assessed before paying the fine.
